Terms and conditions

These terms govern your use of https://www.handlesline.com and any brokerage HandlesLine, a trading name of Flowline LLC, carries out for you. By instructing us you accept them.

Where a term limits what we do, it does so because that limit is real, not to reserve a position. We would rather be plain about it before you pay.

What the service is

HandlesLine is an independent broker. We identify the holder of a social media username, negotiate on your behalf, and coordinate the transfer with the payment held in escrow until it completes.

We are not a party to the underlying agreement between buyer and seller. We are the intermediary who makes it safe to execute.

What the service is not

  • We do not recover suspended, disabled, banned or hacked accounts.
  • We do not access, compromise or take over any account, on any platform, under any circumstances.
  • We do not circumvent any platform's terms of service, rate limits, verification or security measures.
  • We do not control any platform, and we are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Meta Platforms, Instagram, Telegram, Fragment, X, TikTok, ByteDance or Snap Inc.
  • We cannot compel a platform to release, retain or honour any username, and we make no representation that a platform will do so.

Platform risk sits with you

Most platforms' terms prohibit the sale or transfer of accounts and usernames. The market operates in a space those platforms have chosen not to police aggressively, and that tolerance is not a guarantee and could end.

A username you acquire may be reclaimed, reset or removed by the platform at its own discretion, at any time and without recourse. That is a risk you take on when you buy, and it is not one we can insure against or refund once a transfer has completed.

We will tell you where a particular platform or a particular handle carries above-average risk. We will not tell you a transaction is safe when it is not.

Escrow and payment

Funds are held in escrow from the moment you pay until the username is confirmed on your account. Only then are they released to the seller.

If a transfer does not complete, the funds have not left escrow and are returned to you in full. This is the protection we offer, and it is the only one: it covers non-delivery, not a later change of mind and not a subsequent action by the platform.

Quoted prices are firm for the period stated in the quote. Price bands published on this site are indicative of the market and are not offers.

Timescales

Most transfers complete within 24 to 72 hours of a confirmed order. That is what we typically achieve, not a contractual commitment: a transfer depends on a counterparty, and counterparties are sometimes slow.

Where a deal is going to take materially longer, we will say so rather than let a date pass quietly.

Trademarks and intellectual property

Where a username infringes a trademark you own, we can help you prepare and submit a complaint through the relevant platform's own official process.

That is assistance with a submission. The decision belongs entirely to the platform, we have no influence over it, and no outcome is promised or implied. We are not lawyers and nothing we provide is legal advice.

You are responsible for confirming that a username you acquire does not infringe anyone else's rights. We will flag an obvious conflict if we notice one; the search is yours to run.

Your obligations

  • Provide accurate information about the account that will receive the username.
  • Be available at the agreed time. Several platforms require a coordinated release, and a missed window can lose a handle to a third party.
  • Do not use the service to acquire a username in order to impersonate a person or organisation, or to infringe a trademark.
  • Comply with the terms of the platform on which the username sits.

Liability

Our liability in connection with any transaction is limited to the amount you paid us for it. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost revenue, lost followers or loss of business opportunity.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including for fraud.

Governing law

Flowline LLC is registered in Florida, USA, and these terms are governed by Florida law. Where you deal with us as a consumer resident in the EU or the UK, this does not remove the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence.
