What sells, and for how much
Three and four letter handles are the bulk of what moves. Below that, one and two letter Instagram names surface perhaps a few times a year and are priced as one-offs rather than against a band.
Real words carry a premium over letter strings of the same length, and first names carry a premium over both — an Instagram handle is a personal identity far more often than a brand one, which is not true of, say, X.
How an Instagram handle actually changes hands
Instagram has no transfer feature. There is no button, no form, and no support queue for moving a username from one account to another. Anyone who tells you otherwise is describing something that does not exist.
What happens instead is a release: the seller renames their account, freeing the string, and the buyer claims it. The gap between those two moments is the whole risk of the deal — the name is briefly public and can be taken by a third party watching for it.
We run that window ourselves rather than leaving the two parties to coordinate it, and the buyer's funds stay in escrow until the handle is confirmed on their account. If the claim fails, the money has not moved.
What we will not do
We do not recover suspended or disabled accounts, we do not retrieve handles that Instagram has locked, and we do not offer any route that works around the platform's terms. Where a name is held by an account that infringes a registered trademark, we can help prepare a complaint through Instagram's own reporting process — but that is a submission, not an outcome, and no one can promise the result.

- Is buying an Instagram username against the rules?
- Instagram's terms prohibit buying or selling accounts. The market operates in a space the platform has chosen not to police aggressively, and that tolerance is not a guarantee. Anyone buying a handle is holding platform risk as well as counterparty risk, and should price accordingly.
- How long does an Instagram handle take to transfer?
- Usually 24 to 72 hours from a confirmed order. The release itself takes seconds; the time goes into scheduling both parties, verifying the seller controls the account, and preparing the claim.
- Can I buy just the handle, or do I get the account?
- Both happen. A handle-only release leaves you claiming the name on your existing account, which keeps your followers and posts. An account handover moves the whole profile, which is heavier to secure but avoids the release window entirely. We say which one applies before you pay.
- Can you get me a specific Instagram username?
- Often. Tell us the handle on Telegram and we will check who holds it, whether the account looks dormant or active, and whether the holder is open to an offer. Some are, many are not, and we will tell you which before you spend anything.
- What happens if the transfer fails?
- Escrow releases the funds to the seller only once the handle is on your account. If the claim does not complete, the payment has not left escrow and comes back to you in full.
